The Social Justice Institute (SJI) brings to life the vision of Governors State University’s President, Cheryl F. Green. A response to racial unrest and disparities, the SJI seeks to eliminate barriers to higher education, success, and equity throughout the Southland Community through the guidance of Dr. Phyllis West.

The 2600 square-foot Social Justice building is designed to invoke a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere, as well as to provide a connection to surrounding nature.
